Brookland School District Secures 103 Acres for a Strategic, Master-Planned Expansion!

[Brookland, Ark. February 6, 2025] – Haag Brown is thrilled to announce the Brookland School District has acquired 103 acres for a game-changing, master-planned expansion!

Recognized in 2022 as one of the fastest-growing school districts in Arkansas, Brookland saw an urgent need for more space to accommodate its surging enrollment. The district partnered with Haag Brown to assess potential sites and secure the most suitable location—prioritizing traffic flow, accessibility, and proximity to the existing campus.

Brookland Mayor Kenneth Jones emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, “Brookland School is a vital part of the City of Brookland’s future.”

Following an extensive search, the district acquired 103 acres from long-time Brookland resident Tony Elmore. The purchase closed in two phases, with the first parcel secured in February 2024 and the final tract closed in January 2025.

There were several significant hurdles to overcome—annexing and zoning, traffic considerations, infrastructure capabilities, and survey discrepancies, just to name a few. But through collaboration with the city and the determination of the school board, we successfully navigated these challenges to make this expansion a reality.``

The newly secured site, located along U.S. Highway 49 between AR-230 and Craighead 950 Road, sits just two miles northeast of the current campus. The district has engaged Nabholz Construction to lead the project’s development.

Our firm has played a role in 20 deals in Brookland over the past decade, many of them notable. However, no real estate transaction is more significant to the city than the sale of these 100 acres to the Brookland school system. This deal will shape the commercial and residential landscape for the next 20 years.”
